I’ve been wanting to transition from digital tracking of certain habits, routines and life stuff into a paper system for some time, but never found the one that was right for me. I’ve had this idea of printing custom postcards for myself for a while, but hadn’t gotten around to making my list.
Until last week, when I checked out The Checklist Book by Alexandra Franzen (link in comments). Her fresh take on what, and how much, belongs on a checklist was the breath of fresh air.
Among my “dailies”:
- Look at that beautiful sky
- Check in with friends (not always easy for this introvert)
- Drink the good tea
Of course, there are spaces for daily projects, appointments, events – but not too much space, so I can pace myself (also on the list). Added a daily touch of fun by leaving out the dividers and details here, to encourage the new creative habit in working on – doodling more! Art doesn’t have to be so serious all the time, and I have so many wonderful pens… That’s the kind of to-do list I can get up and face every day. Highly, highly recommending Alexandra’s book.
